Magnaplate HMF? is a proprietary, multi-step coating process that produces a mirror-smooth?surface with a microfinish as low as 4 Ra.?The coating can obtain a hardness of up to 68 Rc and can be applied to ferrous metal, copper or aluminum alloys. The purpose of the coating is to create a microfinish that produces a low coefficient of friction. Magnaplate HMF can operate in a range from as low as -250 F (-157oC) to as high as 950 F (510oC).

Salt spray per ASTM B-117 exceeds 336 hours when thickness of coating is 0.001 inches or greater. Magnaplate HMF provides a level of chloride protection better than chrome plating.
